Insurance Claims Help for Cape Coral Homeowners

We document the damage and work with your adjuster, so you can focus on getting your home back to normal.

HOW WE HELP

Dealing with insurance after damage is stressful

A burst pipe, a fire or a storm is hard enough. Then come the phone calls, the forms, the adjuster visit and the question of what your policy actually covers, all while your home is in disrepair and your family is trying to get back to a normal routine.

We cannot file your claim for you, but we can take a large part of the paperwork off your shoulders. From the first call we document the damage in the detail insurers ask for, and we communicate directly with your adjuster so you are not passing messages back and forth.

WHAT WE HANDLE FOR YOU
THE CLAIMS PROCESS

Four steps from first call to claim close-out

The same steps apply whether the damage is water, mold, fire or storm.

1

Call and we start documenting

The moment you call, we begin recording what happened, when it started and what is affected. Emergency response and documentation start together, so nothing is lost while you wait.

2

On-site photos, readings and scope

Our crew takes photos and video, records moisture readings and builds an itemized scope of work that lists what needs to be done and why.

3

We work with your adjuster

We share our documentation and communicate directly with your adjuster, and we bill your insurance company directly wherever possible.

4

Final walkthrough and close-out

We walk the finished work with you and hand over the final documentation your insurer needs to close the claim.

WHAT IS TYPICALLY COVERED

Coverage in general terms

Every policy is different, so treat this as a starting point and read your own policy. In general:

Sudden and accidental damage

Damage that happens suddenly and unexpectedly, such as a burst pipe or a fire, is generally covered by a standard homeowners policy.

Gradual damage and neglect

Damage that builds up slowly, such as a long-running leak, or that comes from a lack of maintenance, is typically not covered.

Storm surge and canal flooding

Rising water from storm surge or canal overflow is generally excluded from homeowners policies. In Florida it needs separate flood insurance, such as a policy through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

BEFORE YOU FILE

What to have ready for your claim

Gathering these early makes a claim smoother. If you do not have everything, that is fine, we can help fill in the gaps.

CLAIMS QUESTIONS

Common questions about claims

Wherever possible, yes. We send our documentation and invoice to your insurance company, and we bill them directly when the insurer allows it. Some insurers pay the homeowner instead, or pay in stages, and your deductible is always your responsibility, so we go over how it will work for you at the start.

A denial is not always the end of the road. Ask your insurer for the reason in writing and compare it with your policy. Our photos, moisture readings and itemized scope can support a request for a second look. For a dispute, your insurer’s appeals process, a public adjuster or an attorney may be worth talking to. We cannot promise any outcome.

Not always. Many homeowners handle straightforward claims on their own. A public adjuster is a licensed professional you hire to negotiate with your insurer on your behalf, usually for a percentage of the settlement, and some homeowners consider one for large or disputed losses. We are not public adjusters and cannot advise whether you need one, but we provide the same documentation either way.

It depends on the size of the loss, the insurer and how complete the paperwork is. Straightforward claims often move in a matter of weeks, while larger or disputed ones can take months. Complete documentation from the first day helps keep things moving, and your insurer can tell you where your claim stands.

PLEASE NOTE

This page is general information, not insurance or legal advice. Cape Coral Property Restoration is not an insurance agent, broker or adjuster, and we cannot tell you what your policy covers or how your insurer will decide your claim. Please confirm the details with your own policy and your insurance company.
